Preamble Then and Now…

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

That was then…This is NOW:

We the people of the former United States, have torn apart our once perfect union, have no justice, encourage domestic turmoil, failed to provide a common defense, forgotten what general welfare is (and it includes EDUCATION), and allowed the blessings of our liberty to be misused to the point where almost no prosperity remains. 

We have torn apart our once perfect union by allowing ourselves to become bigoted against one another for one excuse or another. If it is not due to race, it is due to regional bias, religion, sexual preference (or the fact that some will never agree to mind their own business from both sides of any issue). Americans, let people be who they are, marry who they want and address the coming problem…Here it is…

We have failed to establish justice because we have allowed those who were considered to be on the lunatic fringe when we were children to come into positions of power.  In doing so we have seen not only THIS administration but many in law enforcement personnel ignore the 4th Amendment.

Defense? The people have no defense.  I will support no candidate who does not pledge to pull our troops from the Middle East.

The general welfare…NO I AM NOT talking about social security here or any aid to the elderly disabled. THESE are the ones who truly need it…Yes, some people have been on welfare too long.  Part of “welfare” includes educating the youth. When teachers are forced to be social engineers, children will not get educated. It is time to change this.  It is not the job of the educator to mold my child into a government mouthpiece.  Period.  We must look to other models of education (such as Belgium’s) and remove the government (and especially the NEA) from making decisions about the curriculum for each state, as well as making decisions on educational policies for each state. There is no need for “national certification” because this is a power that should remain with the states.

To try to nationalize the curriculum is the same is trying to eradicate each state’s individual culture under the guise of expanding education and making it equal for all, when no matter how much they put into place, it never can be so. There are many here who know what it means to  secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. However the government does not want a populace that knows what this means.  Hasn’t anyone else figured this out yet?

Oh I forgot…They aren’t taught the meaning of those precious words in the Constitution any longer. THAT would encourage critical thinking.  My god we have so squandered this great blessing of ours so much that nobody can see what is happening? It is time for citizens to take back the country. Run for local offices and move up from there. It is also time for the PEOPLE to lay differences aside.  Our freedom remaining in tact is what is important right now. PERIOD!

All this country needs is one sweeping election to defeat anyone who is trying to usurp our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.   We KNOW who they are yet we keep putting them all back in office, on our school boards and on our city councils–not to mention every other city, state or county post known to man.  Hint: BOTH major parties are loaded with these people.

This lady has been bent but she is not fully broken yet. We can still work together to keep this country together, but we have to stop letting the government keep us divided. They feed off of that. We have to learn to mind our own business instead of telling our neighbor how to live his/her life and stop telling other countries how to conduct their business–and to further the end of the latter, we shouldn’t be providing monetary aid to any country that abuses others via forced marriages at young ages, mutilation, and denial of basic human rights.  We should also limit humanitarian aid to such countries.  The last thing we should do to further our own end is to ban travel to these areas and close our embassies there. Most countries like this do not want the U.S. or any European country there anyway and if we would all agree to give them what they want by leaving them behind, they would eventually learn who their real enemies are.

Then again, so would we…All we have to do at this point is look in the mirror because we did this to ourselves as a nation.

Lies Involving Voting in TX

Many have seen this meme on Facebook. I can totally assure you that it is full of false information.

First off, if anyone is going to engage in creative writing involving the State of Texas, they need to do their homework to make sure they do not get caught with their pants down.  The Wendy Davis supporters who came up with this just got caught in their first flat-out lie and there will be many more to follow, I’m sure. I am going to give you a link to verify what I am about to tell you so I’ll post that first:

If you look at provisions 6 & 7 NOWHERE is it mentioned that both marriage certificates and divorce documents must be presented in order to vote. The story about the judge is also false. These requirements were posted well before the election and she knew what they meant–if she bothered to read them like a responsible judge who keeps abreast of changes in law would.  It only took her 15 seconds to sign the affidavit–30 if she read the thing.  For her to say she almost “didn’t get to vote” was a fabrication on her part.

The biggest mistake these Democratic workers make when they come here to try to “turn this state blue” is that they truly believe that Texans do not keep up with politics and the news. Well here is the shocker, WE DO!  And contrary to what they report, many of us are quite well-educated and know how to think critically.

That being said I am going to make a prediction based on what I do know about the people of my state. Wendy Davis won’t win for TWO simple facts alone. She is NO Ann Richards and to a lot of us, Ann Richards was the last true old-school Democrat. We don’t care for Progressives.   The other reason she will not win is that the continuing barrage of lies being printed about my state via operatives of the Democratic Party hurt her more than help her. If they knew how to keep the rhetoric honest, she might have a snowball’s chance in hell of at least getting 28% of the vote. Kinky Friedman would have a better shot than she does, I think.

Since WHEN Does ANYONE Need to “JUSTIFY” Their Opinion?

I will  never understand why it is some of these “armchair” experts who come onto Facebook think they are entitled to have someone justify their “opinion” on something. Unless my opinion directly hinders their ability to go out and buy a product of their choice or enjoy a night on the town, then it is just rather childish for them to keep goading me for a response on such things.  I start by saying, “What’s it to you when you aren’t going to change my opinion on it?” and they keep on and on like the damned Duracell Bunny.  Look familiar?

Like the puppy that won’t let up–they keep on playing around until they give up or I block them.  Look, if one is going to be on Facebook,  then he/she needs to learn when to back off. Nobody and I mean NOBODY has to justify to anyone why they have opinions on certain issues that they do. That is life.  Be an adult about it and deal with it. If you go in there looking for a debate or a fight, then you’ve already lost on your point.

I have certain opinions on life and such. Everyone else does too.  However, I’m not going to debate anyone on those issues because WHAT led me to have those opinions is none of their bloody business.  Nobody on Facebook is going to try to sit there and (as one idiot I blocked put it) analyze my motivations and such.  I really have no motivations in the sense this guy was alluding to–and deluding himself in the process. I am an older woman and I have my own thoughts on life and how things SHOULD  be.  IF my opinion (or any poster’s opinion) is posted, it is not for the purpose of public debate.  On many issues my opinion is fixed. It won’t change and this person just could not accept that and shut up.  So yeah…I blocked him.  When they become argumentative trolls that is the best thing to do.

And it really irks me when these trolls are young enough to be my kid, too.  Some of them should have been taken to the woodshed like their parents were, and given a damned good hiding!  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like spanking children but I can think of a few adults who need a hiding more than their kids EVER did!  There are examples of these all over Facebook too!

I think some of this behavior goes to an entitlement mentality.  There are people out there who feel that they have some sort of divine or universal right to question everyone and everything and try to box them into a position of having to justify themselves over the most ridiculous stuff.  I don’t know about the rest of you, but I don’t have to justify “WHY” I have a certain opinion to ANYBODY if I don’t want to. That is all there is to that.  If these types of people cannot deal with the fact that my opinion may differ from THEIRS then they have a personal problem.   In fact, to me they are just another form of bully, which I will not tolerate.

Red State…Blue State…How about “NONSENSE”?

Is there some reason why all Americans, who bleed red the last time I checked, let their politicians guide their every thought as of late? I’ve heard people in red states bash blue ones and vice-versa and have started blocking all of them when they do it on Facebook.   It is rubbish. It is another form of bigotry that has been labelled as regional bias. Why can’t people agree to disagree and let people live as they want to? I’ve heard one side say they want religion outlawed. That is stupidity. Even if it is outlawed people will practice their faith regardless and they will teach it to their children so you can scrap that idea now.

The other says they don’t want to allow same-sex marriage.  Then don’t do it.  If you don’t want an abortion–don’t have one. For those in the blue states who bitch about those who own guns…If you don’t want a gun, don’t buy one.  We as a nation have allowed ourselves to become somewhat “bullying” of  others who live in states below the 36th parallel. Well get over that garbage. We are all Americans. Again WE ALL BLEED RED.  We have enough enemies outside of this country that the last thing we need to do is to allow this country to implode from within but the real difference lies in who reads what laws are passed and who doesn’t as well as who is willing to give up some freedom just to have their medical bills paid or whatever.

I for one am NOT willing to give up the rights granted by the Constitution and I find it appalling that our military would not be able to keep bullets in their weapons in this country while the police in many areas are being given small arsenals.  Perhaps the government doesn’t want our soldiers to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United states and protect a bigots right to be a stupid ass bigot.  I’m sure this makes the Westboro Baptist Church very happy any way–not to mention some extremists in other countries.

I will also be the first to point out that voting for someone or against someone based on race, gender, etc…Is still based on the “–ism” words. Think about it.  Read what they stand for and if it is not something you would want your children and grandchildren to live under, either change your latitude or fire  your politicians in the elections.  GET OUT AND VOTE!

Other than that, leave each other alone. The political climate created by the politicians started all this crap and the anger SHOULD be directed at them. We are merely caught in the middle.

And while you are at it, this is something you MAY want to take into consideration being that it seems to predict what is going on…Yes, it’s George Carlin, it is funny and yes there is some bad language in it. However, he was right and Americans didn’t want to see it because they all live in their own little bubble.  We need to  stop this left vs. right crap and actually READ the laws put into place.  We certainly do not need to let this bias from some make this nation escalate into chaos. If they don’t want to work with us, then We the People need to VOTE to put a stop to this nonsense.

I Stand Alone Yet Not Alone

I am one alone. I walk my mountain in solitude, even as the approach of autumn means my birds and such are beginning to leave. It is in this place I am safe. It is in this place I am one with all that surrounds me and know that although I stand alone, I am not alone.  As the cool air blows through the trees which are about to enter their slumber, the Earth beneath my feet seems to energize my inner being by letting me know that no one has carved into her and marred her any further here–yet.  Hopefully no one ever will.

The foxes aren’t here right now. They seem to be staying in their own domiciles as of late.  Once in a while I see a few stray birds up in the sky of blue. I feel a sadness at their departure, but  with joy knowing that they will return in the Spring.  All is a reminder that the circle continues and will not end–even when the day comes that my life is over.

I hope to be by the Ocean again one day and far away. We shall see what awaits me, that is for certain. Have a great day.

School Bullying Must Stop–A Proposal…

I have to phrase this in a way everyone will get it. School bullying and cyber-stalking are out of control. These web applications that generate fake phone numbers to enable a stalker to pull this MUST be shut down or tightly regulated. If ordered by a judge, they should have to surrender any information the requester for such numbers gave to the site in order to be able to access such programs. Any students caught using this for the purpose of bullying other students should be expelled and put on house arrest for the rest of the school year and forced to do their classwork at home. They should also be ordered to go into psychiatric counseling at the parents’ expense–not the states.

Schools should be required to report to the parents of the victim(s) any incidents (even if perceived) of bullying within two hours of becoming aware of the concurrence. ANY teacher or administrator taking it upon himself/herself who decides not to report the incident to the parents OR the police if severe, should face disciplinary action up to and including termination as well as fines up to $5000 and forfeiture of their certification(s). If the bullying is severe enough to call law enforcement, the police should immediately have to place the bully in restraints and arrest him/her/them. It should also be up to the parents of the VICTIM whether or not to file charges–not the police or the school district.

It is time to protect our children and to separate them from a culture that permits silence and the continued torment of other students. Many of the crimes (yes crimes!) they throw under the label of “bullying” include physical assault, psychological torment, and/or sexual assault or molestation. Often it also includes some sort of verbal sexual harassment and/or repeated incidents.  These are all things adults can either go to jail for and/or lose their jobs for.  When children commit these acts on other children they should be strictly dealt with. There should truly be “zero tolerance” for this behavior in the schools.

This is only part of what I’m proposing to stem the tide of this garbage. How many more students are going to kill themselves before the end of the school year? I am wondering because right now there is NOTHING firm and rigid in a legal approach that has been put  in place to protect them in most states at all.  What are your thoughts? Can you think of any ways to help stop this? I do realize that my proposal is modeled somewhat after the Prison Rape Elimination Act, but since most of what I have seen occur when working for the corrections industry tends to remind me of what I saw in public school yards, that is why I came up with this.

The PREA gave parents and family members of bullied and extorted offenders an avenue to seek remedy within the laws of the land should officers neglect to report possible rapes and take measures to prevent offender suicide. Since so many bullying victims either attempt suicide or actually do it, this must be addressed specifically also.  It is for that reason I strongly support sending bullying victims to a counselor to ensure their mental well-being.  This is especially true if the student is known to be homosexual. Many do get picked on for their sexual orientation and this must also be stopped. No child deserves this treatment.  As for measures like “lunch detention”, believe me, they are a joke. Those things do not work on a bully because a lot of the time to them, being in lunch detention or ISS is a “badge of honor” just like going to medium custody is an honor for an offender in prison when they bully others. In fact, a lot of the reason these measures do not work on many bullies is that some of them come from families that have family members which are incarcerated.

It is bad enough that many cannot even bring themselves to discuss this with their own parents out of fear, but school is the last place they should fear going to. We must make these institutions safer for ALL children and this is the only proposal I can think of to actually get the job done–or at least start the process of making a change for the better.

These suicides can be prevented if teachers and administrators are specifically trained in what to watch for, so I propose that training them to notice certain signs (unkempt appearance, giving away possessions, statements that could lead one to think they might harm themselves or others in retaliation, etc…).

Usually I can look at something and keep my cool, but when I hear about child pornography rings and animal cruelty–those are two hot button subjects that IMMEDIATELY pull my trigger and set me off!

This is one sick individual who should never see light outside of a jail cell for her many acts of cruelty against defenseless animals and she has the gall to call this shit “art”?!  Hello! People, these are the sick individuals that graduate to SERIAL KILLING!  Read about Charles Eng, Ted Bundy, Ed Gein, Wayne Gacy and countless others. They started with puppies, kittens, and other defenseless animals.  THIS HAS GOT TO STOP in America. We should NEVER, EVER tolerate this under the guise of “art” or any other bullshit they try to use to make their sickening behavior more “justifiable” to the public.

I am not kidding when I stress that people who are this sick are in the same league as child pornographers.  NONE of them should ever be out among society.  Neither we, our children, our grandchildren,  and/or our pets are safe with sick people like this on the loose!

I have an immense love for animals.  I’ve had dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters and such from the time I was a kid. I even once had a white mouse named “Brutus”.  I cannot even bring myself to apologize for the heated anger or vernacular in this post because I am so worked up right now.. Let’s get together with others who can help us stop this crap dead in its tracks, please! Thank you.

 

The Light Bulb in My Head Came On Today. That’s RARE on Mondays!

All of my life, I have been through various bouts of junk.  Now that I am 50, this has been one of my roughest years (physically) yet one of my most enjoyable.  Aside from the female issues that are also getting brought under control with medication, I am cancer free and my pernicious anemia is now “managed” to the point where I don’t feel so much of that crushing fatigue.  I still get light-headed from time to time but I simply slow down.

I realized today that some people really would like to go back to “yesteryear” and repeat their lives at various points, hoping to avoid making the same mistakes again and again.  With me, this is NOT the case.  I would never want to go back and redo any part of my life.   I think the life I have right now, despite having to write and “broadcast” from the TTRV, my life is full! I am enjoying it. Despite some family concerns, I know things are going to turn around.  I don’t know HOW I know it, but I do.

That being said, all I really need is one thing and that is “NOW”.  Think about that. IF we can’t change the past or alter the future, why the hell do we lose sleep over either?  Seriously people!  Yes it’s Monday, but I hope you all have a great day ahead!  Normally I dread Mondays but I am off today!

Within two weeks, I look forward to working toward my goals again–dropping the weight and getting back into shape!  I haven’t had a transfusion since July too!   Again, have a GREAT day!

 

Robin Hood Bores Me and I STILL Debate a Few Issues…

I’ll never understand it but the story of Robin Hood always bored the hell out of me. I am not sure why. However, although he was a thief who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, at the end of the day, he still took stuff that was not rightfully his and was still a thief.  If you stop and think long and hard about this, Bonnie and Clyde (yes the murdering outlaws) often did the same thing–and I think they were kept well hidden because of that fact by people in various towns until they were gunned down.

Now what’s the point? It’s this (and I’ll try to make it very simple).  For a while the people will love and admire such a person–until it begins to affect everyone and everything around them.  Then there is a demand for justice.

Now there are several versions of the Robin Hood tale–one most looked at says he was taking and giving back to the people what was “theirs”…Gee…Did whoever wrote Robin Hood create the concept of “redistributing wealth”?  If this is about perception, then different eras are going to read the story different ways.  In any reality, there is no way the number of poor were rightful owners of what he stole…How would he know what belonged to whom?  Seriously, if you want to get in a conversation starting a philosophical world of s**t, start with this!

The bottom line though is this–Robin Hood was STILL a thief himself.  There! I’m through being so bloody cranky today!
